Journal Page - People Person?

Do you ever have one of those days when you just want to play?   I got up this morning and decided I wanted to play in my art journal.... strange, as I've been TOTALLY absorbed of late making an interactive album using the Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells Collection. Plus I have a million and one other crating projects on the go!!!!

But a journal day it was and here is the end result........

 Very busy ah?

I had some very vibrant deli paper left over from another project and rather than stash it away (where it would probably not see the light of day for another millennium), I decided that it would fit well as the background for this quote, which has been rattling around in my head for awhile now as an idea for a journal page.

I have to be honest and own up that once the the deli paper was glued into my moleskin,  I set to with a wash of gesso to tone it down and then re-inked, stamped, stencilled and coloured randomly to bring it back to life.

This Stamportique stamp is a firm favourite of mine but also in the background are a couple of Stampers Anonymous and SU stamps, along with TH splatter stencil...all very grungy.

The quote was stamped in black archival ink using a SU alphabet stamp set that I've had for years. I inked the edges with Twisted Citron Distress Ink to pick up the green acrylic paint I used on the deli paper, then added shadows with a black Faber Castell Big Bush marker pen. There's a little doodling here and there with a Signo white marker pen for good measure.

And ......(as they say in the USA)...... there you have it.  Not quite my usual journaling style but I am happy to try something out of my comfort zone once in a while.

Thanks so much for taking a look at my post.

Happy crafting

  2. Hellooooo and hi, thanks for the comment. Have to say the background was a bit of a challenge for me and definitely out of my comfort zone but actually quite liberating to just go with the flow. The stamp....well, have to say I adore her and have for a long time. Love her waspish look. Hugs C.xx
